God was speaking truth to me the other morning through waffles... yes, waffles. You see, my three year old daughter is now in a weird habit of eating her waffles cold. The first time she asked for a "fwozen waffle" I thought, "Okay?...weird...but sure, why not? She could be asking me because I have been walking away from the toaster oven lately and burning them...We are always in a hurry."
For whatever reason, for over a month she switched from wanting hot waffles, to cold ones. Until, the other morning when my wild-haired cutie looked up at me and asked for a "fwozen waffle?" My thoughts went right to, "Oh no, maybe this isn't good for her. It was kind of cute at first, but now... what if she isn't supposed to eat them frozen for good reason. Food poisoning? Are there raw eggs in frozen waffles... no wait they're cooked, right?.... am I hurting my kid and not even paying attention to the dangers of frozen waffles?"
Until I remembered Revelation 3:15-16... “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth."
God was speaking to me to laugh at this funny girl, enjoy her... be more concerned about her spiritual person... no guilt in parenting, but to relax in the little things like "fwozen" or hot waffles and pray that she will be on fire for Jesus soon enough:)
