Hello, friend! Have you ever been bullied, teased, made fun of? If you haven't yet, you probably will at some point in your life. How does Jesus want us to treat people who are ugly to us? In Matthew chapter 5, Jesus tells us to love our enemies, to pray for those who persecute us. HOW is that possible? Through the Holy Spirit sealing us, protecting us, and helping us is the only way!
Jesus wouldn't tell us something to do if it wasn't possible. He makes a way, even when there seems to be no way. The object lesson in this vlog is something you can try at home. Take two clear jars, fill one with 3/4 water and 1/4 vinegar. The other jar fill almost all the way to the top with vinegar, no water. Put 1/2 of a teaspoon of baking powder in the jar with the water and vinegar mixture. That jar represents a person who is filled with the Holy Spirit. As humans we all battle with some sin in our lives, but when someone is ugly to us or bullies us, we might get a little upset, but the Holy Spirit covers us and we are able to love our enemies...ONLY THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT! The second jar represents a person who is not a Christian. Mix 2 teaspoons of baking powder in that jar and watch how it "EXPLODES" with anger and ugly back! Jesus is protecting and helping us to understand, being ugly back to people who hurt us- simply isn't worth it. How we react to our enemies can lead them to Jesus. If we truly love people who hurt us, forgive them, and enjoy life they will be able to see Jesus' love through us. Life is so much better when we forgive and move on. Our enemies might become our friends, and if not, pleasing God and not having hate in our hearts, makes life so much better. Once again, Jesus is right! See, you can trust Him, with even your toughest problems! I am praying for you!! Spend some time with Jesus this week:)
